Cherie Lily is a multifaceted performer, songwriter, and producer, immersed in her own high-energy dance music but also deeply involved in the world of personal training, apparel design, and collaboration with other musicians.
Lily was born and raised in Chicago but moved to New York City in 2002, where she quickly got involved in the punk scene, playing with rough-edged bands like FlüRT and Spank while making a name for herself in fitness circles as well. Her musical focus soon expanded from those punk beginnings to more club-friendly fare, culminating with 2010's energetic Werk: The Remix EP. Werk and its follow-up, 2013's The Dripping Wet EP, were both awash with hard house beats and the influence of New York's vogue and runway ball culture. Lily also accompanied Andrew W.K. on various tours as hype person and backup vocalist. Her work with Andrew W.K. also included vocal contributions to his Close Calls with Brick Walls album and the 2008 Lee Perry album he produced, Repentance. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
