A son of rural Wales, growing up in the seaside town of Ogmore-by-sea, Dan Bettridge is an artist whose output has defied rigid classification.
Bettridge has made a name for himself with his unique voice, vocal style and skilled songwriting. Having also ghost written for other artists across many genres from pop to folk & EDM, Bettridge has spent time honing his craft which has provided the perfect set of skills that mean Bettridge's work is a unexampled amalgamation of classics and modern contemporary sounds that produce his own instant classics.
His debut release, the stripped-back, beautiful Hunter’s Heart EP – was embraced by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and by Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio 2, showing an immediate ability to engage listeners across the tastemaker and classic spectrum. Following multiple sessions at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios and supporting the likes of Band of Horses on their UK tour in 2016, Dan released brand new singles Heavenly Father and Blame in 2017.
Bettridge’s debut album began it’s life being released in Waves of four songs at a time, Asking for Trouble (Wave One), Asking for Trouble (Wave Two) & Asking for Trouble (Wave Three). Bettridge said “I believe in the songs so much I thought they deserved to be met with no distraction. It’s me saying ‘I think I did it - take a look at these 4 songs at a time’." His debut album Asking for Trouble was subsequently released on July 6th 2018 to critical acclaim.
