Cashmere Williams got his start playing in church at the young age of seven years old, there he learned to blend with musician and develop his own signature sound.
In 1995, he earned a partial scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he studied composition and arranging. Southbound, he moved back to Alabama and formed his own jazz quartet playing at: Jazz Festivals, Corporate Events and Jazz Clubs in the Southeast. 2003, he got the call to back American Idol winner Ruben Studdard touring the nation while appearing on shows like: The Jay Leno Show, The David Letterman Show, The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and many more! After three years on the road, he recorded "New Birth" his first EP on Lenoah Records paying homage to his newly born daughter Harmonie. Recently, Cashmere was honored as "Best Male Jazz Artist" by The Alabama Music Awards two years in a row 2016, 2017! His latest release "Uptown" is full of funky grooves, crisp phrasing and sweet melodies that draw you in from the first note.
