Thomas Rawle, who operates under the nom de plume Dreller, is a London-based, Sydney- born artist producer/multi-instrumentalist, animator, and filmmaker.
He has a talent for crafting dark, beat-forward blasts of pulsating and hook-laden neo-funk electro-pop. In 2016, he turned heads with the singles "One Night Stand" and "Control", remixed Empress Of, and played shows with the Internet and festivals across Australia and Europe.
Dreller returns in 2018 with “Shape of Love”, his first new music in two years, along with the accompanying self-animated video. It’s an addictive slice of alt-pop with huge hooks and a sprawling crescendo deserving of repeat listens.
Thomas said, "I've spent the past two years obsessively building a 3D version of the world I sketched out in my first videos for "One Night Stand", "Control", and "A Signal That Comes Back". I was recording music the whole time and there was so much material by the end that I decided to create an entire universe out of it all with its own mythology and stories. I hope it's a thrill to watch it unfold."
Dreller wrote, produced, and mixed “Shape of Love” himself. It was mastered by Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Blood Orange, FKA Twigs, Flume, James Blake) at Alchemy in London.
Expect plenty more music in the near future.
