This Scottish-based group revolved around David Valentine (vocals/keyboards) and Douglas Bogie (guitar).
A set of superior demos engendered a recording contract with A&M Records which resulted in the melodic R.A.F. Billy McGhee (bass) and Tom Annan (percussion) completed the featured line-up, but by the release of Restless Spirit, the group had become synonymous with Valentine. A veteran of Edinburgh’s beat group scene, this accomplished musician pre-produced the set in his own recording studio, before completing it with the aid of London-based session musicians. Despite interest in US musical circles, the album was not a commercial success, and the R.A.F. name has since been shelved.
