Live the duo tend towards lively acoustic versions of the songs although full band performances are not unheard of. The strength of the songs and the interplay of Andy and Naomi's vocals really shine in the stripped down presentation though and they are a welcome antidote to the prevalence of uber-dour acoustic singer/songwriters. That's not to say the songs have no heart though. Their critically acclaimed album "Tarred and Feathered", three years in the making and released in March 2017, hangs upon a loose concept of an outsider couple travelling around Europe looking for refuge/sanctuary and then "home".
For their 2019 album "It's Complicated" the duo continue to mine the past pleasures of pop to spin their web of new musical wonders whilst maintaining a keen ear for hooky melodies and distinctive arrangements. A slightly more "electronic" affair, the album is encapsulated best, perhaps, in the title track with its nod to late period ABBA, Donna Summer and Daft Punk. Is this the sound of their future? They'd never be so predictable...
