A New Towel
It started with drinking beer and playing guitar on the driveway. Late nights with family and friends just making music.
Neighbors would stop by and hang out, maybe take a turn with the guitar - or bring their own. Brian played rhythm guitar and sang most of the songs. Blake was a lead guitarist. Then one day, Blake joined a band. Their singer dropped out one month before a gig. Not wanting to let the club owner down, Blake committed to keeping the date, and asked Brian if he would be willing to stand in for the singer. When Brian asked about lyrics, Blake said there were none. It was at this point they decided rather than playing the gig as an already-defunct band, to go ahead and form their own new one. And write new music.Over the next two weeks, Brian and Blake wrote twelve songs, and then performed that gig as Copperwound. While the band is no more, Brian still plays some of those songs, and has written others to go with it. He also plays the drums and piano.
