Galway artist Niamh Regan has long been lauded as one of Ireland's most promising folk talents. The Irish Times described her teenage demos as 'Bursting with potential'.
After she completed a degree in music, she left the folk band Juhn Echo and released her debut solo EP in 2017. Since she has shared stages with artists such as John Smith, Sam Amidon, Mick Flannery, Mary Coughlan, The Maes, Oh Pep! and played the stages of many Irish music Festivals including Electric Picnic and Body&Soul. Now in 2020, Niamh Regan prepares to release her debut Album 'Hemet in early September.
“Niamh Regan's lilting folk melodies are a must-hear for fans of Laura Marling and Lisa Hannigan” - Hot Press
“Her principal influences include both traditional Irish music giants and American ones: Paul Brady, Tom Waits, and most fittingly, Sarah Jarosz, who might wind up being more of a contemporary for Regan than a looming figure” - The Irish Echo, USA
“A beautifully-crafted and gently-paced art-folk piece that wouldn't sound out of place on Fiona Apple's 2012 masterpiece The Idler Wheel, with Niamh's poetic lyrics and tangibly emotive vocals providing a captivating listen throughout” - Hotpress
“Regan’s voice has the inflections of UK folk music singers like This Is The Kit and Laura Marling combined with the gasping rasps of Karen Dalton. It’s a timbre that is commanding and wise, that pushes vowels around in interesting ways” - Nialler9
