Heinali is a moniker of Ukrainian music composer and performer Oleg Shpudeiko, working in the fields of electronic and electroacoustic music.
Self-taught, Oleg started his first eclectic experiments with music in 2003. His recent works gravitate to a sound sculpture aesthetic. They're often based on layering, looping, distortion and modular synthesis and explore the phenomenology of sound and liminality.
In 2009 Oleg composed music for installations and performances as a part of Soloma art group. In 2010 started a long-term collaboration with an American poet Matt Finney. Heinali and Matt Finney work with spoken word poetry, distortion and often explore metal genre idioms. The Flenser released their recent LP 'How We Lived' in 2017. In 2013, together with a music composer and pianist Alexey Shmurak of a classical background, formed an electroacoustic duo. Concentrating on interdisciplinary projects and live performances, they realized numerous projects with visual artists, musicians, VJs and poets. In 2015 curated a short series of electroacoustic improvisation series in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2016 Heinali composed music for the Bound video game by Plastic/Sony Santa Monica, followed by music for A Thread choreography by Jean Abreu Dance, performed at Southbank Centre, London.
Heinali's works have been released on Sony Interactive Entertainment, The Flenser, Fluttery, NEN, and other labels. In 2017 Injazero Records released his recent Anthem LP.<br>
