Born of Mexican heritage while raised in the Southwestern part of Miami, St. Loreto was always exposed to a wide range of styles. Whether it was the popular emo-punk of his youth, the local hip-hop sounds, or the first guitar that his father gave him, many genres influenced the unique sound that he brings today. R&B greats like PartyNextDoor and The Weeknd showed him that he could enjoy success with an alternative sound, and his knack for darker beats qualifies as such. His latest single, “TGO”, promotes urgency. The sound combines classic R&B vibes with an actual analog clock. Loreto uses that backdrop and the old adage that “time goes on” to remind listeners that time will continue to pass, and we must make the most of it. The imagery describes our fast-paced world, but shows us the importance in taking time when building something that will last. He references the golden hour and twilight as ways to encourage people to push for personal happiness and not approval. “TGO” is not a race against age or the traditional confines of the clock, but rather a call to live with purpose, pursuit and passion.
