The first appearance of Ricardo Imperatore in the Rio musical scenario, was as drummer and co-founder of the Band BEL, in 1984.
After the Banda BEL Imperatore started a successful solo career as a drummer/percussionist.
From 1995 to 2000 he did play or toured with artists such as, Natalie Cole, Susan Vega, Man At Work, Midnight Oil, Marisa Monte, Titãs, Tom Capone, Monobloco, Ivo Meirelles, Cassiano among others. In 2001 Imperatore dives into de electronic world, and starts his solo project, boTECOeletro
His work is influenced by brazilian folk, erudit, pop and root music, awarded boTECOeletro as the best electronic album at 2005 at the Musica Brasileira Awards (The brazilian Grammy). “Brazilianity” is the basic concept of the record " says him. In 2012 Imperatore releases boTECOeletro Volume 2, and again was nominated best electronic album at 2013 at the Musica Brasileira Awards.
Once more we can listen to an innovating electronic record, full of brazilian influences where we can find the presence of Baden Powell and Zé Ramalho, among so many others.
The level of success of the record was clear when he presented it at te The Rock in Rio 2013, to a jumping crowd of tens of thousand people.
Imperatore toured all over Europe, US, Latin America and Africa. New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Vienna, Torino, Bologna, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Porto, Copenhagen, Liechtenstein, Antwerp, Reunion Islands, Mexico City, La Paz, Rio, Sao Paulo and so many others.
