Lost Gecko is a band influenced by various genres such as funk, blues, Hip-Hop, jazz, and indie rock.
The group was founded at the end of 2015 when the Venezuelan Diego Morera (vocals and guitar) arrived in Barcelona and met Víctor Arias (keyboards and back up vocals) and Marcel Magem (guitar and vocals), both natives of the city. The trio, which had participated in several bands in the past, soon discovered their musical affinity and decided to start a new musical project. Later, when the trio decided to start composing their own songs, they met American Dylan Porta-Nuzum (drums and vocals), member of a family of musicians and audio engineers. After a short time, the four asked longtime friend Oscar Palomero from Barcelona to join the band as the bass player. When the group began to take form, they started to compose original songs taking inspiration from groups like Rolling Stones, Funkadelic, Arctic Monkeys, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd among many others. Their debut concert took place in La Nau del Poblenou, where they first worked with the sound engineer Genaro Mosquera (Venezuela), who was responsible for the sound and recording of the live show from which "Groove Train," the band's first song, was released. A handful of concerts later and the band began to work on their first album. The self-titled LP "Lost Gecko" brings together ten tracks in which funk rock, rap, blues, and soul are mixed masterfully to generate a unique sound, as danceable as mature.
