SeaStar hails from the salty town of Seattle, Washington. Since their beginnings in 2007, SeaStar's music has been described as both "timeless" and "authentic". From dusty Americana postcards, to Celtic anthems with hints of bluegrass and old-time, to passionate ballads, and award winning story songs, SeaStar takes their audiences on a musical journey of history, folklore, and tradition. SeaStar was formed by Fae Wiedenhoeft (pronounced WEE-den-hauft), an award winning singer songwriter, who grew up near Chicago. While Fae is a successful touring musician in her own right, her love of collaboration won and SeaStar was born. Fae's voice has been the signature mark of the band. Classically trained, with a BFA in Musical Theatre, Fae continues to push the limits of songwriting, creating interesting vocal lines with her 3 octave range. Together with her bandmates, she delivers songs that tangle truth, whimsy, and the passions of the human heart together in a beautiful escape from the ordinary. SeaStar's love for musical storytelling is only surpassed by their desire to share it with others. They can wail like a gale or woo like a summer breeze. Their passion to perform is strongly felt by their audiences. They have played across the US, Canada, and Europe, sharing the stage with folk legends like Dougie MacLean. Be it a small house concert or a large concert auditorium, SeaStar will invite you in, sing you a tale, and make it feel as if they are playing just to you.
