Saint Charlie spent the summer of 2016 in the Giesound-studio recording "Lightning Over Velvet Evenings", an album addressing the deeper struggles of what might seem to be a perfectly lived life on the outside, and in which a grand, defined sound was the starting point. That's why the band collaborated with topproducer Guido Aalbers (GieSound), internationally known for his production and mixing qualities. "Lightning Over Velvet Evenings" was released with a show in a sold-out Merleyn (Doornroosje, Nijmegen NL) on March 18th 2017 on Kroese Records label.
Singles Ordinary Sound and Velvet Nights were presented towards the album release. Ordinary Sound became IndieDisc at IndieXL and immediatly reached the #1 position in the Dutch IndieChart. The album's third single "I Would Do That" was brought out to support the "Stichting Vluchteling", helping refugees all over the world to make a better living.
