With a genre-bending sound characterised by floaty, feel-good melodies, smoky vocals, gritty synths and nostalgic beats, Jiordy's mesmerising brand of music and lyricism offer a piercing insight into her introspective mind.
Cascading onto the scene in early 2020, Jiordy's debut single UR Dumb – an intimate look at the complexities of love – garnered the praise of notable music publications, including, triple j unearthed and Life Without Andy.
Her second release, Hmmm, premiered on the triple j airwaves with Richard Kingsmill in late July. The track was largely celebrated by Spotify, with inclusions in playlists New Music Friday’s, Pop Edge, Weekends and Friends, and Fresh Finds: Indie and Fresh Finds.
Laying herself bare through storytelling and sound that is evocative, playful and universally relatable, Weight in Water was a heartfelt tribute to her anxiety. The mesmerising track was premiered by Tone Deaf, featured on Purple Sneakers, Music Feeds, LiveWireAU, Clipped TV, Muzeroom and Hertz Magazine, and was added to full rotation on triple j unearthed.
Jiordy's latest single 'Vigor', set for release on Feb 23, is about feeding off someone’s lifeforce and energy. It's an ode to the inner fire in which we all possess, the essential spirit of human existence. Co-written and produced with bass player for Client Liaison, Jahn Rae, Jiordy's 4th release is an exciting exploration of the bounds of pop as a genre.
