In his late teens Tom’s love of typography drew him to Wellington, where he studied design. It was here that he first started playing guitar and writing songs. An early collection of demos recorded in his bedroom, Red Leather Blues, was shown to a handful of people then quickly hidden away, and given away, on Bandcamp.
In 2011 Tom moved to Auckland, where he would write for advertising agencies during the day and write music by night. It was during this period that he penned and performed the songs that would eventually make up his debut album.
Tom quit his job in 2017 to spend more time writing music and making pasta by hand. He has recently released his second album, Template for Love.
