A storyteller at heart, Kevin Heider enjoys playing intimate solo acoustic shows and rocking festival stages with his full band, The Honest Stand. His most recent releases — US (an EP) and THE SPARK (a double album) — reveal a singer/songwriter sensibility, a versatile writing style, and an indie/folk, roots/rock sound that refuses to rest comfortably in a single genre. In 2008 Kevin was personally selected by Ingrid Michaelson as the winner of Gibson's "The Way I Am" contest.
This marked the beginning of his pursuit of a life in the arts and encouraged him to take writing and performing more seriously. He has traveled and toured extensively since then as a singer/songwriter, performer, recording artist, and producer. One reviewer wrote of his ambitious double album: "The Spark is an album unlike anything I've heard for a while. It feels as sprawling and involved as a Sufjan Stevens record...It's an album that really couldn't be born outside of the American experience."
