Duane weaves Bossa Nova, Jazz, Regggae and Soul to create an organic sound inspired by his search for love.
Duane was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. His parents of Jamaican heritage gave him his love for music, Reggae, Classic, & Jazz. He grew up in a rough neighbourhood in Toronto. What kept him out of trouble was music and art. He listened to Classical FM Radio and Jazz. Duane's musical career began when he was in school and was in band class. He had his eye on the Drums, his teacher noticed this and had him go the long way. Duane started on Flute before letting him move on to Clarinet, French Horn, Trumpet, Sax and then finally Drums.
Once Duane started with Drums there was no turning back. He performed in many competitions with his school band and joined the choir at his church as the drummer. One day the choir director was short singers and asked if Duane could help out. At this point Duane had no idea that he could sing or would later on begin writing music.
During his time at church he met a classical guitarist from Mexico who had visited to play one day. Duane fell in love with the guitar and began getting lessons from the guitarist. Duane's many other musical influences started to shine through and it was then that he realized this just might be the thing he does with his life.
Through the profits and influence of his music, Duane has recently founded a non-profit charity called 'Genesis Community of the Arts'.
