It performs in leading concert halls throughout Europe including Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Vienna Konzerthaus, Berlin Konzerthaus, Frankfurt Alte Oper, and Hamburg Laeiszhalle, and is a regular visitor to the Wigmore Hall. The Quartet tours annually to the USA, making its Carnegie Hall debut in 2017, and has collaborated with artists including Ian Bostridge

In 2009 the Doric String Quartet’s first CD was released on the Wigmore Live label and since 2010 the Quartet has recorded exclusively for Chandos Records, featuring works by Haydn, Korngold, Janacek, Schubert, Schumann, Elgar, Walton and Brett Dean. Future releases include Haydn, Mendelssohn and John Adams’ ‘Absolute Jest’ for String Quartet and Orchestra.
Formed in 1998 the Doric String Quartet studied on the Paris-based ProQuartet Professional Training Program and later at the Music Academy in Basel. In 2015 the Quartet was appointed as Teaching Quartet in Association at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In June 2018 they become Artistic Directors of the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival.
