Como? “Just Como. That’s my nickname! - My mum always called me her sweet little Como when I did something stupid, reminding herself that I was the result of something stupid She did in this incredibly romantic place in Italy”.
Born and raised in Austria, Como grew up in the western part of the country, close to the Italian border, and later moved to Graz where she finished her combined studies in English, French, Italian, law, politics and economics, preparing for a job in Brussels. Her most important companion since childhood has always been her diary, but Como’s diary has black and white keys. Thoughts and experiences that needed to be dealt with became lyrical fragments and melodies. She says she doesn’t exactly write songs – “they just happen to me”. For many years she kept them to herself, “my music was a hidden part of myself that I didn’t want to share with anybody”. One day “my neighbour played one of my songs on his guitar, and I panicked,… a piece of my secret world had escaped through the wall”. But this first contact and a series of fateful encounters paved the way to her first album “Music Diary”. However, she still keeps most songs to herself. Just like the artist herself, her music has to be discovered. - This is no fast-food, but soul-food.
