British folk-rocker Jon Allen was born in Winchester and spent much of his early years living in Totnes Devon.
One of his early singles, 2008's "Going Home," was used for a Land Rover commercial, and his debut album, Dead Man's Suit, appeared in 2009. The album earned positive reviews, and Allen made appearances on Later with Jools Holland as well as several BBC sessions; in the period he toured with Damien Rice, KT Tunstall, Mark Knophler and Seal. His sophomore effort, Sweet Defeat, arrived in 2011. After a European tour in support of the record, he set about writing and recording the follow-up -- Deep River -- which arrived in 2014. Allen's fourth album, Blue Flame, was released in early 2018 with notable singles “Jonah’s Whale” and “Keep On Walking”. In September he embarked on a European tour supporting Dionne Warwick and will close the year with a series of U.K. shows support Jools Holland.
