Al Joshua is a musician, performer and writer from London. He first came to the public eye through his Orphans & Vandals project releasing the album I Am Alive and You Are Dead in April of 2009.
The album was well received by the likes of NME, Loud & Quiet, and was well supported by BBC 6 Music which led to the band recording two live sessions for Tom Robinson.
Al Joshua resurfaced in 2015 composing the instrumental soundtrack to his 2015 screenplay Set The Thames On Fire. 2018 saw his return as a singer-songwriter, linking up with London independent Rare Cut Records to deliver his debut solo album Out of the Blue. The album's opening track Johnathan was selected as BBC 6 Music Recommends track of the week upon release.
His latest album, “Anomalous Events” was written and recorded at home while shielding over April and May 2020. Later in 2020, his lofi album “Pigeons”, recorded at home in 2005, was re-released.
