I'm from a musical family, and have been playing guitar since I can remember. Early models were of the plastic variety, but there was always a guitar or piano around, and a huge stereo system in the living room my dad called "the monolith." He was a gear head, and DJ in the USAF while stationed in Japan, where I was born. The thing was full of vinyl. Elvis, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, The Doors, you name it. Many musicians swirl in my musical memory and influence what I write. Tom Petty and Mark Knopfler are huge. As a guitarist influences include Alex Lifeson, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Joe Walsh, etc. In the 90s I borrowed a keyboard my bandmate had and began composing drums and other parts for my first CD, and experimenting with electronic music. Some of that became Timeless Tales of Yesternever Volume 1. Experimentation with ambient guitar led to Timeless Tales of Yesternever Volume 2. A bunch of life and a pandemic brings us to now. On a personal note, my wife and I found some property in the mountains and after two summers in our 17 foot RV, we built a house. I'm putting finishing touches on a studio where I intend to do nothing but make more music, so stay tuned. Follow me on Facebook, or check out DrewVics.com for updates.
