It was followed by “Random Access Memories” in 2009 and “Meridians” in 2014.
In 2016, Franz Kirmann’s music took a more experimental turn with the release of his 3rd album “Elysian Park”, a dystopian ambient record partly inspired by French writer Michel Houellebecq’s novel “The possibility of an Island”.
Between 2009 and 2016, Franz Kirmann also worked extensively with pianist and composer Tom Hodge, releasing music as Piano Interrupted and via German label Denovali. The pair’s output can be described as a meeting point between electronic, post classical, jazz and experimental music. Together they release a 7” in 2009 entitled “Piano Interrupted” followed by three albums, “Two By Four” (2012), “The Unified Field” (2013) and finally “Landscapes Of The Unfinished” (2016), their final album, partly recorded in Senegal, where Franz Kirmann grew up.
