Transcending sweet singer/songwriter to angsty-teen & finally, ferocious front woman; the evolution of Doctrin and life of Dolly.
Australian born creator, vocalist and guitarist, Denko began her life like any other innocent catholic cherub, secretly obsessing over lust and and the taboo. Soon enough, Dolly aggressively liberated herself from the patriarchy and founded her own Doctrin. Love, Lust, Anger and Pain are the driving emotions of Dolly's lyrics, often riddled with sexual innuendos and personal in-jokes. Dolly's true life story in song is an unfiltered commentary on life, relationships, tragedy and loss as well as pure bliss and personal happiness.
Working with Brian Virtue (Thirty Seconds To Mars, Filter, Jane's Addiction) saw additional programming and epic industrial inspired rhythms and soundscapes layered in with Denko's self penned lyrics and melodies while still maintaining the raw guitar driven foundation that Doctrin was spawned from.
From performing at home town venues such as the famed Cherry Bar and The Corner Hotel to selling out the Evelyn in Melbourne, Lead Singer and Guitarist Dolly Denko's relocation to LA has garnered performances at Pappy & Harriet’s with Bone Acre , The Hi Hat with Jennie Vee and headline sets at The Satellite, The Whisky, Resident DTLA, The Viper Room and Harvard & Stone. Denko is well known for writing, directing and producing Doctrin's music videos as well as videos for other musical acts like Skux for commercial release.
