"Show Me struck me as an intense idea for a song,” says da Silva. “It’s scary how detached we've become. Technology is great, but we’ve got to remember how important human interaction is. Chad dug an old synth out of the closet. We started stacking sounds and layering vocals. The production came together quickly. Virtually all the sounds were created using the same synth.” Da Silva and Alger have collaborated since 2007. They released the album “Brasilissima” (2010) under da Silva’s name. Having lived in both the USA and Brazil, da Silva combined her cultures, melding Indie Pop and Bossa Nova to form a new genre, one she coined Indie Nova. da Silva and Alger debuted as Complicated Animals in 2015. Their EP “In This Game” received rave reviews from blogs, and was called the “beginning of a new sound” by PopMatters.
