Five mates from four different parts of the country, The Bugles are a funky punk band bursting onto the music scene.
It all started when Blade brothers; Jack and Tom, met Matt Newell at the University of Reading. In August 2018 Mohsin Abbas joined on drums and ‘The Bugles’ really took shape.
Since then an intense flurry of gigging, writing and recording has taken place, not to mention the capture of final Bugle Siony Williams on the bass. Highlights of this period include sold out shows in both Bristol and London and the successful release of debut single ‘What’s Happening?’, a track BBC’s Emily Pilbeam described as a ‘belter’.
The Summer of 2019 promises big things. Their follow up single ‘Give Up’ has been met with an incredible response. ‘Mystic Sons; call it a “gem”, Indie Buddy say “It’s sing along, clap along ready and just fun to its very funky core… one listen to this track and it will be stuck in your head for days”. It also achieved song of the week on ‘Loxley’s Corner: Actual Radio’. As Touch FM presenter Liam Fox aptly put it: there is a “big future ahead for the Bugles”.
