Author of some of the essential albums that have helped define spanish music, and having received wide recognition throughout his life's work, Kiko Veneno (1952 Girona) has been creating his own music as well as writing for other artists for over forty years.
His first album "Veneno" (1977) recorded alongside the Amador brothers, and his significant contribution in Camarón's "La leyenda del Tiempo" (1982), were game-changing events in flamenco music, both of which set the path forward in establishing how Flamenco could combine with other music genres, and how it could be performed for a  renewed and diverse audience.
Over the years he’s written songs of many different genres, including; electropop in "Si tú, si yo" (1984); melodic rock in "Pequeño Salvaje" (1987); pop with echoes of african harmonies in "Dice la gente" (2010); tropical pop in "El pimiento indomable" (2012) or modern unorthodox flamenco for the soundtrack of the film "Entre dos aguas" (2018).
Amongst his greatest commercial hits are the albums "Échate un cantecito" (1992) and "Está muy bien eso del cariño" (1995), marking a turning point in flamenco-pop music.
Now Kiko Veneno releases his 18th LP "Sombrero roto" (2019), a rhythmic and lively album/book whose fresh sound environments are often layered with surprising electronic beats. The album was released within a hardcover book, which portrays the songwriter’s inspirational journey with handmade art and poetry.
