Carrying the touch in a long line of acerbic and poetically charged musicians such as Iggy Pop, The Fall, Pulp and Joy Division, North London's unrelenting ‘Baroque Punk’ concern Fiende Fatale features vocalist Matt Magee, guitarist Rolph Angelucci-Edwards, bassist James, and drummer Dom Bowman.
The quartet went to the same all-boys Catholic comprehensive school and cemented this line-up in 2017. Born from the rubble of addiction and depression, the band can be aligned with the new positive punk movement. Nevertheless, Fiende Fatale are paving their own path and have been making a name for themselves with their angst-ridden and visceral performances, recently supporting LIFE for the final two dates of their ‘Picture of Good Health’ tour, as well as being a presence in the new grassroots scene growing out of Camden Town and East London, led by the promotion company Live Circuit.
After the release of their first set of singles in 2019, covering themes of chemsex, jaded romance and doomsday, they have been back in the studio with producer Paul Tipler (Placebo, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Idlewild), getting ready for their next set of releases in 2020, with ‘Bang!’ set for release on 31st January.
They are currently also working with The Lost Agency and have been getting international radio play, with highlights in the UK being Radio X’s John Kennedy naming ‘Bang!’ as a ‘Hot One’ on his X-Posure show, as well as receiving plays on Janice Long’s BBC Radio Wales show.
