Keir had many influences to push him to pursue music professionally, ranging from his stepfather performing as local dancehall DJ, his elementary school music class, and Detroit’s very own Eminem‘s movie, 8 Mile. At the age of 7, 8 Mile changed the way Keir felt about his future and encouraged him to start watching movies and expanding his musical horizon. While taking an art class in middle school, he discovered another passion and began designing artwork for his projects. As a natural multifaceted person, Keir combined his passions to elevate the company.
Months upon graduating high school, Keir Melo created a mixtape, "Hardwood Classic", which included a Detroit hit, “Solid”. After gaining some momentum with radio rotations, he gathered other Detroit artists that supported him and created the “Solid (D-Mix)”, featuring Dusty McFly, Oba Rowland, and Dre Armany.
Keir Melo is definitely apart of the new generation of hip-hop. ~ Demetri Hubbard, Live Inspirationally
