Isaias Elpes is an award-winning musician and composer from Brazil, living in Los Angeles. He has been attached to such works as Gloria Estefan's BRAZIL305, in which he holds musician (bass) and arrangement credits, as well as Acústico MTV Tiago Iorc (Ao Vivo) with special guests Jorge Drexler and DUDA BEAT. Elpes has worked with such legends as Grammy/Oscar Award-winning artists Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, Tiago Iorc, Gloria Estefan, Marcos Valle, Abraham Laboriel, and more. While being widely celebrated as a touring and session bassist, Elpes continues to distinctively establish himself as a solo artist and songwriter. His 2020 EP Lua earned him reference to a modern-day Heitor Villa-Lobos, blending his cinematic writing style with his Brazilian upbringing. Pacífico unassumingly characterizes Elpes’s exceptional musicality as it takes its listeners on an emotional journey navigated from the bases of Elpes’s classical guitar and supported by Brazilian rhythms, Western classical music and Latin country sounds. In his newest release, Azul, Elpes plays to a more smooth jazz audience and features Patrice Rushen and Mateus Asato in the title track. Flowing between jazz and funk principles and soft easy listening grooves, the fresh acoustic instrumentation results in an interesting combination of music and energy. With each new release, Elpes presents his unique, signature sound that bends genres through jazz, classical, world and instrumental music.
