Samuel became an obsessive fanatic of Hip Hop at the age of 13 and began writing/recording shortly after. Coming from a country town on Portland’s city limits, his gritty vernacular is smoothed over with a slight drawl and subtle melodies. His unlikely tastes in the music of Outkast, Slim Thug and Freddie Gibbs gave the Northwest native a unique take on Southern Hip Hop.
SamuelThe1st remains busy as he builds momentum to break out of the Northwest with his debut album. He is continuing to make music past the project while finishing the videos for Self to promote the album. Samuel titled the album ‘Self’ to create a piece of art that others can reflect on in a time of disagreement and social hysteria.
