Multi-instrumentalist Chris Quinton takes on the creative drive of the group. After years of filling hard drives with demos and unfinished work, in 2013 Chris met guitarist Ben Graham. Bonding over a kindred love of Coldplay, Ben was invited into the studio and he quickly started colouring demos. They both felt a similar passion for dynamic tunefulness and started dreaming of what would eventually become Drinking in Iceland. Despite passion and energy, the band didn’t quite find its feet. In 2019 drummer Bryce Crocombe came on board bringing stability and experience and Drinking in Iceland was formed.
Among other significant influencers to Drinking in Iceland, is producer Jackson Barclay. There every step of the way, his belief, persistence and musical tenure has been the final piece of the puzzle.
Drinking in Iceland represents a musical truth; a faraway place we all desire to experience here and now. This motif is painted profusely in spine-tingling anthems written and arranged by the group. Drinking in Iceland will inspire your future, break your heart and (as our good friend put it) “it’ll make you want to ride down a giant hill without a helmet”.
