Amassing over 2.5 billion streams to date, the 24-year-old independent singer, songwriter, and producer Lauv resembles an auteur in his assemblage of electronic tones, airy beats, jazz-inspired guitars, and soulful vocalizations.
After logging countless hours in his bedroom writing and producing, Lauv entered the Music Technology Program at NYU in 2012. Working under the auspices that he’d “make music for other artists,” he maintained a prolific output until penning his first Lauv release,“The Other” in 2014. “The Other” quietly took the internet by storm with over 250 million streams and is now certified Gold in the US.
Relocating to Los Angeles, he co-wrote the Platinum-certified Top 5 smash “No Promises” by Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato as well as the Pitchfork-endorsed “Boys” for Charli XCX, among others. In the meantime, “I Like Me Better” became his second bona fide smash. It vaulted past 850 million streams, hit Top 10 at Top 40 radio and is certified multi-Platinum in 12 territories.
In early 2019, he collaborated with pop icon Troye Sivan on "i'm so tired…” that has since accumulated over 300 million streams, is climbing top 40 radio charts globally and is scanned Gold in the US.
The next chapter in the ever evolving Lauv story comes with his upcoming debut album, ~how i'm feeling~. The first single off the album was “Drugs & The Internet” and proceeds from the latest track, "Sad Forever" will be donated to mental health organizations working to remove stigma.
