Fueled by their mutual love for ‘60s guitar-based melodic rock informed by the Madchester bands of the '90s, Glen Laughlin and Deborah Gee formed The Cherry Bluestorms. Laughlin was coming off of several lengthy stints with Punk/Pop legends The Dickies and Gee was an A&M recording artist who worked with luminaries Chris Lord-Alge, Mike Clink and DEVO drummer Alan Myers. The band has released three albums. Transit Of Venus features their acclaimed version of The Beatles’ "Baby, You're A Rich Man". Their next release was the ambitious concept album Bad Penny Opera. It inspired a 90 minute radio special in England! The band has placed songs from both TOV and BPO in hit TV shows. New release Whirligig! is already garnering rave reviews in the L.A. Weekly, Pure Pop Radio and the San Diego Troubadour. In addition to their CDs, the band released a 7” vinyl single, See No Evil b/w Dear Prudence.
