Berlin-based composer Felix Rösch blends his years of experience as a classical composer and his passion for experimental electronic music into colorful, carefully constructed arrangements and contemplative ambiences.
His music is inspired by contemporary classical composers like John Adams, Andrew Norman and Anders Hillborg as well as artists like Rival Consoles, Max Richter and Ben Frost.
Over the past ten years his orchestral compositions have frequently been performed and recorded by world-renowned orchestras like the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and the WDR Symphony Orchestra & Choir. He has won several awards and scholarships and his music can be heard in countless theater performances, audio book soundtracks and film scores.
On his latest EP str:orchestra he merges a 30-piece string orchestra with dark, ambient electronics. “This EP was basically a reaction to the birth of my daughter, to the incredible forces of nature and the unconditional, overwhelming love I began to feel for this little human being.” Felix states. As a result str:orchestra is one of his most emotive and accessible releases to date with a somber, melancholy beauty.
He studied classical piano at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, sound engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf and composition at the Film University Babelsberg.
