Synthwave producer/80s junkie, DRYVE first appeared on the scene in 2018 with his aggressive rework of Kavinsky ‘s hit “Nightcall” (only available on SoundCloud). The producer would then disappear only to re-emerged in 2020 with a self-titled EP appearing on boutique synthwave label NewRetroWave. Receiving much acclaim in the synthwave community, the EP showcased DRYVE’s abilities as an artist and represented a heavy new-wave ‘80s sonic influence. The release boasted the singles “Mirror” and “Synth On Fire”, both featuring Australian singer, Hunz, as well as the aggressive instrumental track “Looker”, which appeared across several videos on Dr Disrepect’s youtube channel. After collaborations with witch-house producer Brothel and a slew of official remixes, DRYVE returned in 2021 with the singles “City Nights”, featuring Brooklyn based singer Fatherdude and
“Blink of an Eye” with indie pop duo Lucy Daydream. Both tracks presented a more pop leaning sound than the previous new-wave influenced sound. On May28th 2021, DRYVE released the debut LP “Seulment L’Amour” (meaning ‘only love’). Again issued on premier synthwave label NewRetroWave the LP hosted ten tracks, eight of which feature vocalists, displaying diversity and a strong songwriting sensibility and solidifying DRYVE’s place within the synthwave genre.
