Alfred and Jaap Roo are brothers and musicians. They start writing their first songs together in the summer of 2006.
Together with some friends they form a band called Titograd and play at several small festivals in the years that follow. In 2010 the band falls apart.
Unable to sit still Alfred and Jaap continue with a new project, naming themselves The O’Riley Brothers. That same year they win a local singer-songwriter contest that takes place at Hedon in Zwolle.
Soon after they start recording their first songs resulting in an EP called The Times. This is the first time they use their family name ‘Roo’ as their artist name.
Having found their identity as artists it seems the brakes are off and one album after the other finds its way into the world.
Aided by a reliable group of befriended musicians they release the albums Heart of life (2013), Hunger for the storm (2015) and Willow Lake (2017).
Meanwhile the brothers keep up the pace and play an immense amount of shows. Among which are support acts for Douwe Bob, Her Majesty and other artists. They have also played at the national Bevrijdingsfestival in Zwolle and at several other festivals, large and small. Depending on the size of the venue the brothers choose to either play with a full band or just the two of them accompanied by their trusty guitars.
Musically they are known for their acoustic sixties sound and matching voices.
