Tribal Dance

  1. 1.
Tribal Dance are a progressive post-punk/math rock three-piece from Dublin. They quickly gained the attention of local music blogs and promoters from their energetic and intense live performances.
Influenced from a wide range of musical ideas from artists such as Radiohead, Girl Band, The Silents and Adebisi Shank, their songs go on a tangent of experimentation that combines upbeat dance rhythms, dark dissonant riffs and chords, screaming vocals and thumping basslines. Their debut single “Flongo” released in August 2017, received positive reviews from music blogs and nationwide newspapers as well as national and international radio play. The bands second single is to be released on Bad Soup Records in May 2018, with a dramatic music video and limited edition vinyl.
The Irish Times: "Tribal Dance arrive about five years after their chosen sound was at its height in Ireland. Flongo is proof they should remain undeterred. Relying on intricate guitar notes, garage-rock vocals, and interlocked percussion, the song is a reminder of playing fast and anything but loose"
Nialler9: “Math rock makes a return to the Irish music scene! Tribal Dance reminds me of all the Richter Collective gigs, the music of Not Squares and Cap Pas Cap that had a big hold on what was going on in the country 10 years ago. ‘Flongo’ is this Dublin trio’s debut single and features the rhythmic tautness of early Foals with a bassline in a rush to the finish.”
