Tia Brazda's jazz-pop gems and bold style have established her as a sparkling presence at home and abroad, paying homage to the golden era while adding a modern twist.
Having honed her unique sound in the clubs of Toronto, she burst onto the scene in 2012 with her debut Cabin Fever - EP in 2012, hitting #1 on the iTunes Canada Jazz Chart and receiving airplay across Canada and Europe, where she toured in support. In 2015 she followed up with the full-length Bandshell, which also debuted at #1 and was ranked the #5 best Canadian jazz release of 2015 by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto. The album also hit #24 on the CMJ national radio chart in the U.S. In 2016 she released an electro-swing version, Bandshell Remixed, featuring DJs from around the globe, which made the Best of 2016 list on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6. In 2018, Tia released the new album Daydream, which also debuted at #1 and finds her irresistible voice cradled in a rich and varied atmosphere of strings, horns and backing vocals, supporting her positive outlook on various states of romance. She moves effortlessly from the bossa nova of the title track Daydream, to the soul-inspired Right on Time, pure jazz balladry of Irreplaceable and tango-infused French chanson of Un amour bohème. Tia has performed at such festivals as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival and San Jose Summer Jazz Festival (rated "Best of the Fest").
