The Sun Harmonic is a rock and roll band fronted by Canadian songwriter Kaleb Hikele, an eclectic composer and prolific recording artist from Toronto's east end, raised in the small town of St Thomas, Ontario.
Kaleb has finished his truly Canadian folk album, Coast to Coast, recorded cross-country over the last 5 years; the first single, tracked in Ottawa and Montreal, comes out November 27th, it's called 'To The Blue'.
The band released a new EP called 'It's All Okay, Thanks To You' on streaming sites and vinyl record, April 2020. Kaleb Hikele, a classically trained pianist turned songwriter, created the moniker in 2009 and debuted with three solo albums in 2009-10' - he sidetracked to record with The Broadview Band and King Snake Crawl - after eight years he debuted his ambitious and storied double album (created only in the winter, written only on piano); it was released with a simple title, Winter: Chapter One , in 2017. He followed this massive project with a 7" record to celebrate his tenth anniversary; A Heart So Heavy was released in the spring of 2019 and he set off on a solo tour to mark ten years as The Sun Harmonic.
In his first decade he toured from coast to coast in Canada as a solo artist, later accompanied by opera singers and a chamber string orchestra, and now he is backed by a rock and roll trio. The band's last gig was on the main stage in Winnipeg, showcased by Canada's Walk of Fame, at Festival Du Voyageur in 2020, just weeks before the pandemic hit.
