Both members of Winstons (Lou Nutting and Ben Brock Wilkes) left Virginia for New York chasing love. When they got there, they worked to stay broke, and they started a rock and roll band.
Their new releases were recorded at a chilly, closed summer resort in the Catskills. Forty empty rooms in a valley. They moved the furniture and set up a studio, mattresses for sound-proofing. Over the course of the week, they ate chili, kept a fire burning, and recorded their debut LP.
