During her school years she played the Violin, and showed much promise from a very young age, but her musical passion led her in a new direction, and so she began to teach herself to play the piano. From there, her love of songwriting emerged.
Lisa has always experimented with different sounds and styles. Highly influenced by her diverse ethnic background (a mix of of Jamaican, Nigerian, Austrian and Cuban), she tries to incorporate influences from their various cultures into her music. Her Soulful-Pop sound is heavily inspired by a vast range of artists and composers such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Bob Marley, Tchaicovsky and Beethoven.
An exceptionally talented artist, Lisa Grand creates visual accompaniments to her music, and featured in her first exhibition in January 2020, entitled AJOYO by Ata Rodo. Other career highlights include a radio and live-show tour in Canada in 2017, and a live performance on BBC Radio London (Carrie and David Grant), and Vibe FM 107.6. Her cover of Ed Sheeran’s Happier was featured on the compilation album Soul Gems (hard copy) curated by Tony Monson of Solar Radio.
