With influences ranging over decades, Spiral Skies has created a sound that can most easily be described as “On other planets kinda Rock”.
A unique blend of folk, doom and 70s rock music. With the enchanting vocalist Frida the band has been compared to band such as Jefferson Airplane, Curved Air and The Devil´s Blood, to name a few. The quintet has spellbound their audience (at Sweden Rock Festival as latest) with their unique visual performance with intense and enchanting live shows, and their earlier release EP “A Queendom to Come” (recorded live in their rehearsal room). The band joined forces with AOP Records and the debut album "Blues for a Dying Planet" was released 18th of May 2018, which has gained huge interest for it´s diversity and originality:
"Picture a heavier Jefferson Airplane, I mean, heavier, some more distorted guitars, some dashes of Black Sabbath, Scorpions, and a lovely female singer whose voice reminds Blondie’s Debbie Harry in her glory days. Got it?" /METALADDICTS
"Many bands try to create the 70’s sound, some succeed but others fail. Spiral Skies definitely belong to the succeeding ones, because what this band from Stockholm offer on their full-length debut album ”Blues For A Dying Planet” is likewise a musical star of the Michelin guide. Blues For A Dying Planet” is a remarkable piece and should attract anyone who likes traditional Rock and Metal or is interested in music by Jess And The Ancient Ones or The Devil’s Blood. /MUSIKATLAS.DE
