“Bonander‘s sound is used as a way to challenge our own perception of patriachy and gender conformity.” (High Clouds)
"...with lavish string parts and icy-like synthesizer hooks, Bonander's appreciation to develop her music against the norm is something to admire." (It’s All Indie)
Bonander has a sound that pushes boundaries while remaining accessible. With a vocal style reminiscent of Björk and Kate Bush she combines dark and dramatic pop with just the right amount of experimental, electronic sounds and always keeps the listener on her toes. With her thoughtful, feministic lyrics and big sound she is sure to intrigue every listener.
Bonander released her debut EP It´s a Girl march this year, where she addresses the theme of gender against a dark, dreamlike backdrop. The tracks explore anger, frustration and despair juxtaposed with a sense of escape, acceptance and empowerment – it’s a journey through the uncertainty of the female identity in 2018.
Her recent release is a collection of remixes of her most appreciated tracks. The remixes are created by the great female/queer producers Raindear, O/RIOH and Lizette Lizette.
