“A beautiful slow burner that builds and builds, climaxing with her angelic vocals” (The 405)
“A protest epic against the alt-right... sounds like if you got in touch with a woodland witch to cast a hex on Donald Trump.” (High Snobiety)
“Bonander‘s sound is used as a way to challenge our own perception of patriachy and gender conformity.” (High Clouds)
"...with lavish string parts and icy-like synthesizer hooks, Bonander's appreciation to develop her music against the norm is something to admire." (It’s All Indie)
Bonander carries a prominent darkness in her music that leaves no one untouched. From a feministic norm-critical perspective, heavy topics are conveyed through beautiful lyricism and melodic playfulness. By building her own Witchland, Bonander seeks to influence people with her art, and to give the listener an opportunity to connect emotionally to music in the same way she has done all her life. Her creative electronic landscapes pushes boundaries while remaining accessible with a hint of quirkiness.
In the year of 2020, Bonander has released a series of singles before her upcoming album release "Things We Don't Talk About" (May 2021). Next up is the single "Gone in the Wind", an emotional piece about an anger that finally erupts as a result of holding something locked up inside you for many years.
