Named after the Japanese word for rainbow, Indonesia's Nidji formed in 2005. Members Giring Ganesha (vocals), Ariel (guitar), M.
Ramadista Akbar (guitar), Randy Danistha (keyboards), M. Andro Regantoro (bass), and M. Adri Perkasa (drums), influenced by modern rock giants like the Smashing Pumpkins and Coldplay soon earned a record deal with Musica Studios, a fairly big player in that part of the world. Their debut album, Breakthru, was released in 2006. In 2007, Nidji was back to cement their progress, releasing an English version of their debut, as well as releasing another full-length called Top Up. ~ Chris True, Rovi
