"The psychedelic curveball you need in your life" - NME
Initially Life Aquatic Band was young squire Ben Allen’s solo songwriting project but it soon became clear that his ambitious compositions would require a multitude of performers to do them justice.
Now backed by an ever-growing collective of musicians from a variety of backgrounds, LAB play with genre to deliver a unique blend of funk, surf, indie and disco with influences as varied as Radiohead, Thundercat and Pavement.
After delivering their Lo-Fi debut EP, Dog-Party Weekend, to glowing reviews, the band consistently prove that they are just as capable as a live act. They starkly deviate from the traditional band lineup by making use of trumpet, trombone, analogue synthesisers, penny whistle and plenty of cowbell.
