In 2019, Mellencamp released “Romance in D”, an acoustic concept EP written, recorded and produced by Mellencamp. Revolving around the key of D, the EP travels through a memoir-like arrangement of songs and spoken word about Mellencamp’s quest for love. Sonically, the EP has a warm, gritty, and indie sound; an intentional nod to the folk singers of the 60’s and 70’s for whom the EP is dedicated.
In the midst of the 2020 global pandemic, Mellencamp returned to his more fully produced sound and released an indie-electronic ballad, “Love in the Afternoon”.
His newest single, “One Day at a Time”, written and recorded during quarantine with his collaborative partner Jazmin Grace Grimaldi , was released on October 16th.
Mellencamp's music has been featured in the New York Times Magazine and was listed as one of Farm Aid's Top 10 moments by Rolling Stone. In addition to his music, Mellencamp has worked with a plethora of brands and has been an outspoken advocate for mental health and environmentalism. Mellencamp is active within the Farm Aid community and has spoken on multiple panels alongside Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and others to raise awareness and funding for farmers across the country.
