Based out of Lynchburg, Virginia, symphonic indie-rockers Atlas Rhoads formed in 2013. The journey began as a cross country road trip with some friends, all of whom had a passion for art, nature, and Jesus.
Band members Eric Blais, Timothy Riordan, Lauren Dorr, and Justin Smith were finalized as the core members of Atlas Rhoads soon after. For their live performances, they are many times accompanied by a selection of instruments such as strings, horns, and other orchestral voices.
Atlas Rhoads released their debut album in the spring of 2015; an album containing an ethereal quality and many orchestral elements such as strings, timpani, harp, woodwinds, and horns. In December of 2015, they took these songs on their first national tour with the critically acclaimed Future of Forestry.
Atlas Rhoads is on track to release their second project in January of 2018. “This record will be much more personal, focused, and cohesive. There is a certain sound that has really spoken to us, that we feel is a natural outpouring of our hearts and walk with Jesus Christ. We are excited to share this sound very soon.”
“Our mission is two-fold: 1) To worship the Creator of the world through creating beauty, and 2) to impact our world through this art; songs founded on the truths of the Gospel. We strive to use thought-provoking lyrics and captivating compositions that accompany the emotional depth of each word. Music that will edify the Church, and pierce the human heart.” -Timothy Riordan
